FLM CP 38 Premium Tripod
Untertitel in Deutsch und Englisch verfügbar // Subtitles available in German and English Hey Guys and Gals, I have been working with FLM tripods for quite a while now, providing them with feedback and working with different models. When the new Series II tripods were released, I was asked to run them through the paces and so I did. I took them to Norway three times this on scouting trips and workshops to test them thoroughly. Sadly I did not get to keep them though, nor was I paid for the review just as a disclaimer. ...
FLM CP26 Traveler Tripod – „Light as Feather, Sturdy as a Workhorse“
After having had the experience to work with FLM tripods for over a year now, and taking my trusty CP30 with its sturdy CB-48 FTR ball head onto several hikes, I decided I wanted to try one of their traveler tripods. The CP 26 Traveler is advertised by the company as small and versatile lightweight tripod. Part of my intent was to minimize the weight I would have to carry on my back up the mountains on this year’s annual alpine hike with my friend Philipp Lutz. After getting a new backpack, new tent, and other gear the new, lighter...
The Right Ultra Wide Angle Lens for You!
After much consideration I thought I should invest some time into an extensive blog article about the topic of ultra wide angle lenses. I did so simply because I spent so much time trying and testing ultra wide angle lenses for Nikon Full Frame over the past years. All in all I had seven lenses over the past 4 years and somehow I always felt that something was missing or something wasn't optimal in my lens setup - even now I do own three ultra wide angle lenses to cover all my needs. Whilst I might be a perfectionist in some regards and maybe...
Even Longer Exposures – Haida Nano Pro ND 3.6
When long exposures aren't long enough, despite using an ND Filter, what do you do? Right! Get a ND filter that blocks more light! The shot above was exposed for 167 seconds with a only single filter at f/8 (so no need to stop down) and ISO 125 during a pretty bright sunrise situation. So what filter did I use to achieve this? It has been a while since Haida have introduced their Nano Pro series and have updated their filter register slowly but surely with the entire range benefiting from the new nano coating. Their library is very extensive...
FLM Tripod – Experiences with Quality „Made in Germany“
As some of you may have noticed, I am now a proud ambassador of the German tripod manufacturer FLM which are well known for their top of the line carbon fiber tripods. Thus I thought I should write down some of my experiences with the gear I’ve been using for the last couple of months - first in Japan, then the Alps and also during my road trip through Ireland. For the most time I have used Slik AMT tripods, three different in total, Zomei carbon fiber tripods and Sirui heads (until I got insulted by one of their representatives). Resulting,...
Photo Book Review – Saal Digital
For some time now I have been wanting to get a physical sample book of my landscape photography for promotion purposes, because it is important that clients get a physical impression of what the imagery looks like when printed. So I finally got around to actually getting this point checked of my list. A friend did a photo book recently with the company Saal Digital and was quite content, selecting some of his favorite images from a African Safari and showing it to me. I went onto their website and noticed that they had a offer for a 40€...
Haida Clear Night Filter Review
After testing some of the new Nano Pro filters by the popular filter manufacturer Haida which were very convincing I present to you a new Filter Test. Since the first test I've become a brand ambassador after using their ND Filters for my long exposures for years now. So know that I have received this filter for free. For some time now I've been feeling interested in checking out their new Clear Night Filter, since I have been shooting during the dead of night quite frequently in recent years. The theory behind this filter is that it blocks...
