One of ‚Best 100 falls of Japan.‘ It is regarded as a fall which represents Osuzuyama-bakuhugun ( the group of falls ),‘ the only scenic spot officially designated within Miyazaki Prefecture. The name Yatogi ( sharpening arrows ) derives from the incident in which Emperor Jimmu, the first emperor of Japan, sharpened his arrows when he made the expedition to the east.
