Autumn Workshops 2016

This year I will conduct several workshops in cooperation with the Fachhochschule (community college) VHS Münster, VHS Marl and VHS Essen.

You can find all the necessary information and booking on the pages of the institutions here:

Introduction into Landscape Photography – Einführung in die Landschaftsfotografie:  16.09 – 18.09.2016  VHS Marl: Link

The last light on an overcast humid day breathes live into the gorge called "Edmundsklamm" with the lush, green foliage bursting with spring as the quiet stream flows down towards the end of the valley.

Architecture Photography in the Heart of Assindia – Architekturfotografie im Herzen von Essen: 29.10 – 30.10.2016 VHS Essen: Link

Industrial design lies at the heart of the famous Lloyd's Building's architectural design by Richard Rogers. It seems almost like a chemical plant in the middle of England's capital, a bit out of place if seen in context to the surrounding structures.

And a third one will be added separately for the VHS Münster later and will be taking place the across October and November.

All of these courses cover a theoretical framework of Composition and Technique, a practical part where participants will be led into the field to actively shoot and learn and a comprehensive post-processing part where I will share my knowledge on how to get the best out of what was captured on the sensor.

There courses are held in German, but in case I do have international participants, as Assindia and Münster are very multicultural cities I will also explain all information in English if desired. If you should have any questions regarding the content or organization please to not hesitate to contact me via my contact sheet here or via facebook.

Workshop: Langzeit / Nachtfotografie

– Since we’re mainly expecting German participants this page is German only – if you’re not fluent in German but want to participate and possess some english skills contact me an I will give you a run through of the details! Language should not be an obstacle!

One of the most iconic industrial sights in the Ruhr Area the Hochofen 2 towers over the Landschaftspark in Duisburg. Once a set of blast furnaces producing steel, the site is now recommissioned as a recreational area, which is also spectacularly lit at night.

A rather unusual angle of the Hochofen 1 at the Landschaftspark in Duisburg. The strong hues and backlight even brought out some circular flare which I kept in the image for added color value. I always dazzles me to think this place was once operable spewing out melted metals.

Industrial ruins are something fairly common in the Ruhr Area but only few can stand up to the splendor of the Landschaftspark Duisburg Nord. Here the "Hochofen 5" is contrasted against the dynamic flow of the clouds for added temporal display.
